Beginnings

I am a 31-year old single mother of one fantastic 9-year-old daughter, Natalie. I realized recently that I have a problem. And you know what they say: the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. So, here it is: I am a “do-it-all” who is obsessed with planning every detail of every aspect of my life. A do-it-all is someone who must at all times be the one guiding the journey, doing the work, shouldering the burden.

Running the show is a way of life to which I have grown accustomed, but it has morphed from a healthy sense of responsibility into an obsession that has the potential to control me and damage my most cherished relationships. This blog is my way of documenting my progress towards a less planned, and hopefully a more peaceful existence. I will share my successes and failures, as well as tips for an organized life, as long as you promise not to use those tips to become a do-it-all yourself.
